Do As I Have Done Humanitarian Outreach

More than a mission..., it's a MOVEMENT!!! That God's people would be united as one Body in Christ, faithfully using every gift, talent, skill, moment, and resource to build the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, as we move forward in love, humility, and obedience to the Great Commission.

This is the Work. This is the Witness. DAIHD exists to follow the example of Christ — to:

  • Serve as He served
  • Heal as He healed
  • Love as He loved

Because when you care for someone's feet, you're not just tending to their body — You're bringing the Gospel to the ground.

A Biblical Perspective on Podiatric Care for the Underserved

Healing First, Preaching Second: Christ's Priority

When Jesus walked this earth, He didn't spend most of His time behind a pulpit. He spent it among the sick, the broken, the weary, and the wounded. Scripture shows us again and again: Jesus healed more than He preached.

"Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people." — Matthew 4:23

The Gospels are overflowing with moments where Christ stops in His tracks to tend to the physical pain of others — touching lepers (Luke 5:13), restoring sight (John 9), lifting the lame to walk (Matthew 9:6), and healing the woman who had bled for twelve years (Mark 5:34). These weren't just acts of kindness. They were acts of divine priority.

Jesus knew something we sometimes forget: spiritual healing often begins with physical compassion.

And when He knelt to wash His disciples' feet (John 13), He wasn't just modeling service. He was honoring the most neglected, weary, dirt-covered part of the human body. He was declaring: "Even here, especially here, I care for you."

Why Foot Care Matters in the Kingdom

Feet Tell Stories

In underserved communities, they carry the weight of hardship — miles walked to find help, infections ignored because of poverty, diabetes unchecked, wounds untreated. For many, foot pain is constant, silent, and dehumanizing.

That's where DAIHD steps in

Our work is more than podiatric care. It is Kingdom work — restoring dignity and offering the kind of compassionate attention that reflects the very heart of Christ.

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" — Romans 10:15

Not because they are perfect, but because they are cared for. Tended to. Valued. We believe that foot care is Gospel care. When we touch someone's feet, we are doing what Jesus did: lowering ourselves to lift someone else up.

The Spiritual Message in Physical Service

Caring for feet — especially among the poor, elderly, and unhoused — reminds people they are not forgotten. It says:

  • You are seen.
  • You are worthy of attention and healing.
  • You matter to God — body, soul, and spirit.
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted..." — Isaiah 61:1

We believe this "binding up" includes tending to broken skin, infected nails, cracked heels, and open wounds. In every towel we carry, in every basin of water, in every trained hand that serves — the Gospel is present.
